Praying The Scriptures For

FREEDOM FROM SIN

Have you ever pleaded with God to remove a certain bad habit or addiction from you?

Have you ever pleaded with God to be free from a certain sin which just doesn’t seem to want to leave you?

Have you given up hope that you can be totally free from certain sins or habits or addictions …. entertaining the thought that we are, after all, just ‘sinners saved by grace’?

As I wrote in my Blog Post, entitled,

“A Step-By-Step Lesson Teaching Us: ‘HOW TO STAND’”

I had trouble as a Born Again Christian with sinful bondages.

.

.

I struggled with anger and bitterness, which no matter how much I prayed and asked God to deliver me from, these sins would not leave me.

It seemed God did not care to deliver me from anger, hatred, or unforgiveness, etc, even though His Word states clearly that I am to avoid such sins.

It actually made me quite angry with God.
God Who demanded holiness and purity….
God Who demanded I walk in the fruit of the Spirit and not gratify my sinful flesh ….
and yet God, seemingly, would not deliver me from my sins and bondages.

.

Until ….
Until I read and believed the Word of God in the Present Tense and Past Tense verbiage in which it is written.

When I renewed my mind and thoughts to the FACTS {Truths} that God HAD ALREADY {past tense} freed me from sin {Romans 6} and made me {past tense} a new creation {2 cor 5:17} I found that sin no longer had the grip over me that it once had.

As Jesus stated: When we know the Truth, the Truth shall make us free {John 8:32}

And as Paul wrote: We must put our ‘new man’ on, through the renewing of our minds to the Truths of God’s Word {Colossians 3:10}

{But please remember, it took years for us to have our sin become strongholds in our lives …. and so, just because you pray the Word of God once or twice over your life, don’t be surprised if your sin/bondages/addictions don’t immediately ‘fall off of you’.  KEEP RENEWING YOUR MIND to the FACT that you HAVE BEEN made free from sin, and sin will eventually have no hold over your thinking or your flesh.}

And so, for the final Podcast in my PRAYER PODCAST SERIES, I thought I would ‘pray the Word of God’ and ‘confess the Word of God” over our lives showing us our FREEDOM FROM SIN.

By CONFESSING the Word of God over our lives,

or by

PRAYING the Word of God over our lives,

we will see our minds renewed to God’s Truths;
we will see bondages and habits break off us;
and we will see the Powerful Word of God FREE us as Jesus said would happen, and tear down strongholds in our thinking as Paul taught us.

.

Remember, the Word of God is our Sharp Two Edged Sword …. but the Word of God must be spoken from our mouths in order to be powerful and freeing.

.

.

So please join me in praying God’s Word over your life today.   Let’s pray the Word of God and Confess the Word of God over our lives to renew our minds to the Truths that God already did free us from sin, and let’s remind ourselves that sin shall therefore, no longer dominate us {Romans 6:2,6,7,11,12 etc}. Amen.

More Than Just The Right Confession

Last week, I had a cold try to grab hold of me.  I woke up Saturday with a sore throat and my head hurt.  I started immediately making the confession of the Word over my body:  “Body, 1 Peter 2:24 says that by Christ’s stripes you WERE healed.  Body, you ARE therefore healed.  Sickness, I command you to get out of my body.  Sickness I don’t allow you to come into my body, because, by Christ’s stripes I was healed!”

.

I will speak such words over my body whenever a headache, a body pain, or a sickness is trying to attach itself to my body.     Matthew 17:20, Matthew 21:21, and Mark 11:23 are some examples of where we are told to speak to things.  We should be speaking to our bodies, and our circumstances, and telling them what we expect them to do!  I speak to my body and I tell my body that I expect it to come in line with the Word of God.  When I say “Body be healed“  I am telling my body, exactly what I expect of it.

My next step, is to believe that what I have prayed for is done.  Mark 11:24 states:  Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

.

.So, I then started thanking God for healing me.

Every time my throat would hurt or tickle, I would lift my hands and praise the Lord, and say “Thank You Father for healing me“, and then go about my business.

.

Sunday morning, when I woke up, my sore throat was gone, but my sinuses were totally stuffed.  I sneezed and sniffed all day long, all the while thanking God for healing me.  .

This continued on through til Wednesday!  I have had enough time growing in Faith for the health of my own body, that sickness does not last that long with me usually.  (Jesus likens the Word to a seed in the gospels, and as the Word and your Faith grows inside of you, you will become stronger and stronger in Faith, and you will see your body obeying your command to come into line with the Word of God.)

.

By Wednesday I finally sat down in some real prayer time….no more quick little prayers!  While I was finally taking some real time, thanking God for healing me and being true to His Word, I heard the Words “It is more than just confession.  It is relationship”.

.

The Father was telling me that, quoting all the right Words (the Words of God) is not the only way that the Lord wants to bring answered prayer to my life; He wants relationship between me and Himself!  The God of the Universe, My Healer and Provider, wants more than just seeing that His Word is True in my life …. He wants relationship!

.

The week that the sickness tried to come upon me was a very busy week.  I had not been spending any quality time in prayer or in the Word.  No real time just sitting with God, and worshipping Him or listening for Him, so this was a very good word for me to hear, and I thought I would pass it along to you.

.

We are not simply quoting magic formulas that will make all of our wishes come true.  We are in a relationship with the True and Living God, the Creator of the Universe, Who has made some promises and provisions for us, His children!

.

He has made the promises that we have been healed as well as saved by His Son, Christ Jesus.  But simply quoting that Truth alone, is not what God wants for us.  Our Father wants a deeper relationship with us.  He wants to impart a deeper revelation to us, of His goodness to us and of His faithfulness to do all He has promised.  He wants relationship!

Be encouraged today to sit with your Father.  All of His Promises are ‘Yes” in Christ Jesus for us, so now let’s take some time to worship and thank Him for such awesome kindness poured upon us. Amen.
