HOPE DEFERRED MAKES THE HEART SICK
Proverbs 13:12

A lady who has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s, recently said to me:
“Honestly, I am a little mad at God.  I’ve prayed to be healed but the doctors say that I am getting worse.”

When speaking to people about FAITH IN GOD’S WORD  {meaning:  believing that the promises of God are always true for our bodies and for all circumstances in our lives, regardless of what our eyes see} I am reminded of the above quoted proverb:  “Hope deferred makes the heart sick”.

A lot of people, who have been born-again for any length of time, have come across situations in life where things have not worked  out as they had hoped, or even as they had prayed for, and hurt has lodged inside of some.  For some, the hurt turns to anger at God.  For others, the hurt and/disappointment simple means they won’t bother getting their “hope up” for any other prayers to be answered.  Their unanswered prayers, have dashed their hopes, and hurt their hearts.

The only way to get over such hurt, is to CHOOSE to renew your mind to the Truths of God’s love and goodness towards you.

After years of personal disappointment, which turned into anger toward God,  I decided to start meditating on the faithfulness and goodness of God and the steadfastness and Truth of God’s Word, for   I had lived for about 9 years so filled with rage and depression, that I knew I couldn’t survive like that any longer, and I knew I was terribly harming my children with my rage and depression.

As I started to choose to believe God’s Words as literal Truth for my life, a new “hope” sprung up inside of my spirit-man, which whispered to me that perhaps I could “trust” God again; perhaps He was actually FOR me and not against me.

This same renewing of the mind will take place in anyone who will choose to meditate on the Words of God AND CHOOSE TO BELIEVE GOD AT HIS WORD.

God’s Words are Truth, they are alive, and sharper than any two-edged sword,  and the Words of God WILL cut incorrect thinking and bondage producing strongholds out of our mind, if we will take some time to meditate on God’s Words, for:

“The  weapons we fight with are not weapons of the world.  On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.  We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:4&5).

Quoting the Scriptures OUT LOUD / speaking God’s Word out loud, is the only sure way to renew our thinking, because “Faith comes by hearing … the Word of Christ” {Romans 10:17}.  As you speak out loud, your mind HAS to shut off and listen to what your mouth is saying.  By speaking God’s Words out loud, it is a sure way to shut off doubt, confusion, and unbelief.   We must choose to stop listening to our negative thoughts which are contrary to Christ’s Word, and start quoting God’s Word from our mouths, to renew our thinking.

I love this example given by Ken Copeland in a tape of his:
In your mind only, silently  think of the numbers one through ten.  Before you get to ten, state your name out loud with your mouth.  What happened to the counting in your mind?  Your mind HAD to shut up, and listen to your mouth speak.

So it will be with the Word of God spoken out of your mouth.

As you quote Scriptures out loud about God’s faithfulness, about God’s love, and God’s provision, or about any other aspect of God’s goodness from the Scriptures, your mind will have to shut up and listen to the Words you speak.  Your spirit-man, in the meantime, is being fed spiritual food, and is being given a chance to grow up and mature.  And your mind is being given the time to be renewed to Truth.

Search the Scriptures which tell you that God is love, and that He is FOR you and NOT against you.
Post the Scriptures up around your home.
Speak them out loud, day and night, and choose to speak them and believe them as present tense Truths …  exactly as they are written!

You will surely then find “good success” in your thinking and in your spiritual state and you will be well on your way to being able to BELIEVE that God’s “great and precious promises” (2 Peter 1:4)  are Truth ALWAYS, for YOUR life!

Genesis 1:26 reads: And he said:  Let us make man to our image and likeness: and let him HAVE DOMINION over the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the air, and the beasts, and the WHOLE EARTH, and every creeping creature that moveth upon the earth (Douay-Rheims Version)

Genesis 1:26 reads:   Then God said, “Let us make man in our  image, in our likeness, and let them RULE over …all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground” … God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number: fill the earth and subject it. RULE over … every living creature that moves on the ground (NIV)

Psalm 115:16 reads: The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s; But the EARTH HE HAS GIVEN TO THE CHILDREN OF MEN (NKJ)

(YOU) set your minds on things above … for you died … (YOU) put to death, therefore, whatever belongs to your earthly nature: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed …but now YOU must rid yourselves of all such things as these: anger, rage, malice, slander, and filthy language from your lips …

1 John 3:8 reads: The reason the Son of God appeared was TO DESTROY THE DEVIL’S WORK

Colossians 2:15 reads: and having (past tense) disarmed the powers and authorities, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross

1 John 4:4 reads: You, dear children, are from God and HAVE (past tense) overcome them, BECAUSE the One who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world

1 John 5:4 reads: for everyone born of God OVERCOMES the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our FAITH

The above verses of Scripture shows us that Jesus defeated and disarmed satan and his cohorts and that because of such:

WE are the overcomers.
WE are the ones who should be resisting the devil, and the devil WILL flee from US.
WE should be ruling over our bodies and over our lives, bringing our lives into obedience with every Word spoken by God, for holiness, for health, and for joy, peace, and righteousness! 
WE are the rulers!

Yet, too many times Christians mournfully plead with God to “please take away this sin”, or “please take away this lust”,   “please help me to love more” or  “please help me to….{fill in the blank}….”.

And, so many times those  prayers seem to go unanswered.

How terribly frustrating to pray for deliverance and help, and have it seem that God won’t even answer a prayer to help us become more like we are TOLD to become, in His holy Word.

Frustrating indeed! such expectations on our part, makes God seem as though He is un-interested in us and our prayers … even cruel by not DELIVERING us from sin and bondages !

BUT remember the Scriptures:

WE are the ones who have the power living INSIDE OF US.
WE are the ones that are to be resisting the devil.
WE are the ones that are to be “washing our hands” and “purifying our hearts”.
WE are the ones to be resisting, ruling, laying hands on, and overcoming.
WE are to be doing these things.  Not God.

God has done all that He can do

Jesus Christ paid the price for sin.
Jesus cleansed us from all sin.
Jesus defeated and disarmed satan and ALL the powers and authorities.
Jesus then even made us sit in the heavenly realm of power and authority, at the Father’s right hand, in Himself.

So, what more can Jesus do?

Well, Christians want Jesus to also fight all their battles for them. They want Jesus to ‘zap’ the enemy and make all temptations disappear. They want Jesus to stop the ‘bad thoughts’ that come into their minds and make their minds clear and free.

But God has equipped us to do the fighting.

Scripture teaches that:

God has given us the Mighty name of Jesus, at which every name, every title, and every knee must bow. Satan and the demons WILL flee at that name, but WE must stand our ground, believing in the powerful name, and SPEAKING the powerful name out loud against temptations, against demonic oppression and everything that is not God’s will !

Use that name.
MAKE the devil flee.
SPEAK the name of Jesus and state, “In the name of Jesus, I command sickness to leave my body and my family. In the name of Jesus I command depression to leave. In the name of Jesus I command … {fill in the blank} …”. Use YOUR authority!

God has given us the Blood to make us righteous and able to fight.

Take advantage of that Blood!
Claim the Blood of Jesus every time you slip in a temptation, or angry word, or hateful thought.
Ask God to forgive, then believe the Blood has done EXACTLY what the Word says it does {the blood cleanses us from ALL sin and makes us THE righteousness of God}, and then stand up BOLDLY, clean and 100% righteous against sin, evil, temptations, and/or sickness coming at you, and yell again, “In the name of Jesus, leave”.

And finally, God has given us the Word … the two edged sword which brings down strongholds AND brings captive our disobedient thoughts, making them obedient to the Word and to Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4-5).

But remember, the Word, sitting on your bed-stand WON’T bring any victory to you! YOU must use the authority given to you, and use the Words written in the Bible, and SPEAK the victory you desire to see manifest in your life.

Speak the Promises as Present Tense in your life. The Words of God WILL do every thing that it Promises to do, IF you consistently USE the Word as your sword.

So, in Conclusion:

YOU are the ruler of your own life.
YOU have authority over sin and sickness and any satanic opposition in your life or in your family’s lives.

But YOU must rise up in your position of Authority, which Jesus purchased for you.
YOU must speak the Word and win your battles.
And YOU must resist the devil and make him leave.

This is your God-given right as a born-again, delivered, righteous, child of God! Amen.

Prayer to pray over your life today:

Hallelujah!  I am a born-again, delivered, victorious, cleansed, 100% righteous child of God!

I do walk in the authority that Christ purchased for me.  I do walk in the authority that Christ has given to me, and the devils of hell DO flee from me, in Jesus’ name!

I have authority over ALL the power of the enemy, and NOTHING shall harm me, ever again, in Jesus’ name (Luke 10:19).  I praise You Father, for making me MORE than a conqueror!  I praise You Father, for making me victorious.  Thank You for Your great power on my behalf, living inside of me, to conquer ANYTHING that this world or the devil has to throw at me!

I AM MORE THAN A CONQUEROR, through Christ Jesus Who loves me, and I give You all praise and glory and honor and thanks!

And this is the Victory to over-come all sin and bondage … even my faith! {1 John 5:4}. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Is  It  ALWAYS

God’s  Will  To  Heal?

One of the most common statements I hear from people is that “it is NOT always God’s will to heal”.        “God is in control, and He knows what is best for that person” is a common add-on to that statement.

Fortunately, God HAS revealed His will for us,  in His Word. He has made His will clear and plain, and made sure it was written down so future generations would be able to read what God’s will is for Believers lives.

It is our minds which need to be renewed to the Truths of  God’s Words,  even if circumstances look contrary to God’s Words.

Are circumstances and feelings more true than God’s Word?   No. God’s Word is final authority,  and it is our minds which need to be renewed to this final authority, so that we can know the Truthful, God-given answer to the question, “Is is ALWAYS God’s will to heal”.

So, is it God’s will to ALWAYS heal? Let’s look at Scripture to find out AND let’s believe God’s Word as Truth.

John 6:38 – KJV
“For I came down from heaven, not to do Mine own will, but the will of Him that sent Me.”

John 4:34 – KJV
“Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of Him that sent Me, and to finish His work.”

Acts 10:38 – KJV
“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with Him.”

Mark 12:15 – KJV
“But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew Himself from thence: and great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all”

Luke 4:40 – KJV
“Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto Him; and He laid His hands on every one of them and healed them.”

Luke 6:19 – KJ
“And the whole multitude sought to touch Him: for there went virtue out of Him and healed them all.”

Psalm 103:3 — NIV
” Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits — Who forgives all your sins and HEALS ALL your diseases”

I cannot find one place in Scripture where Jesus said,  “Go away. I don’t want to heal you”  or,  “It is not your time to be healed right now”.

I have not found one place in Scripture where Jesus said, “It is not the Father’s will that you be healed”.

Nor is it written anywhere,   “This sickness is upon you to teach you something. Go your way. You cannot be healed right now”.

We MUST renew our minds to these TRUTHS.

The Word is the Truth.

And God sent His Word to heal us (Proverbs 3:8, 4:22, Psalm 107:20).

Just because we see Christians sick, or depressed, or in addictions and bondages, does NOT mean that it is God’s will for His people to be that way.

Christians are sick or in bondage because they do not know HOW to get free (Hosea 4:6).

Believe God at His Word today.
Thank Him that His Word is TRUTH for your life …. even before your eyes see the manifestation of the Word in your life.  This is FAITH …. and this is very pleasing to God!  (Heb 11:6, Mark 11:24).    Amen.
