Questions From Others Explained
How Can I Continually Speak The Word Of God?
Or
How Can I Always Answer People With The Word Of God?
..
.
This is a question that has been asked of me by many people: How can I always be speaking the Word of God, especially when I am out with other people?
This is a good question which deserves an answer.
We don’t want to be seen as fanatical or weird when we are with unbelievers, nor do we want to seem legalistic or unkind to Believers who don’t understand the Scripture’s teaching about “ordering our conversation” so that our tongue is kept in line with God’s Word {Ps 50:23} .
The answer, therefore, is this:
We can keep God’s Words continually rolling off of our tongues, by simply speaking in line with God’s Word, with out actually letting the ‘world’ know that we are quoting the Word.
How?
When I am asked, “How are you?”
I ALWAYS say, “Great”.
I never answer, “Sick or tired”, or “A little down today” …. even if such feelings are trying to grab hold of me!
Because the Word says, “By Christ’s stripes I WAS healed” {1 Peter 2:24} and the Word says, “PEACE I give to you” {John 14:27}, and I believe the Word of God changes ALL my circumstances in life, IF I will speak them forth as Truth {Mark 11:23}.
.
What I am doing, when I answer such, is keeping my tongue in line with God’s Word. I am not giving any power to my temporal feeling or difficulties that may be trying to attack me. I am “Holding fast to my profession” that the Word of God is Truth and able to remove mountains and cut down strongholds {2 Cor 10:4, Heb 10:23, Mark 11:23, 24}.
I choose to make my tongue proclaim what God’s Word states about me: I am great. I am fine. I am doing well. All is well, thank you very much!
.
Is this not how the Shunammite woman answered every person’s question, even though her child was dead !!?? {2 Kings 4}
She didn’t even go into any details with her own husband, about the death of their son! She was so convinced that the Man of God would make all things well, that she did not see it necessary to explain the current circumstances to him!
Nor did she feel compelled to tell any of the news to the Man of God’s helper, Gehazi.
Nor did she explain anything to her servants.
We can compare this to our world today.
Why bother complaining, going into details, or rehashing trouble to our spouses? Or our mothers, fathers, sisters or brothers?
Why speak about the trouble or attacks in our lives with our co-workers, or friends, or even the elders and workers at the church?
If we have “prayed and believe” that we have the answer to our prayer {Mark 11:24}, then why would we go ‘back’ on what we are believing …. If we are believing our prayer is answered and our trouble is taken care of.
.
When the Shunammite Woman was asked, “Is it well with thee? is it well with thy husband? is it well with the child?” She answered, “ It is well.” {2 Kings 4:26}.
Was she a liar?
No.
But her child WAS dead, you may state.
But she believed the Man of God would change her current circumstance!
Did she fanatically start yelling and jumping, “It is well” to prove her point, or to build her faith?
She must not have, for neither her husband nor Gehazi is shown to have suspected that anything was wrong by her response.
.
So it should be with Believers today.
If we can confidently believe the Word of God is the Truth at all times, for all circumstances in our lives, then we can confidently state, without yelling and without looking fanatical, “It is well”. “All is well”. “Everything is great in my life.”
.
For if we truly believe the Scriptures as Present Tense Truths, just as they are written, then we can confidently answer all questions about us and our family members with: IT IS WELL.
.
God is our Provider. Therefore, in the face of any economic down-turn, for me and my family: IT IS WELL.
God is our Healer. Therefore, in the face of any attacks of sickness or disease on me or my family: ALL IS WELL.
God is our Protector. Therefore, in the midst of any threats or fear-inducing circumstances, I can always state: I AM WELL.
.
I believe God at His Word.
I believe God is not a liar.
And I believe the Word accomplishes in my life, exactly what it states is mine, right now. Before my eyes even see it. It is Truth. It is accomplished.
No matter what the question is, from anyone in the world, I can always truthfully and confidently answer: IT IS WELL, thank you.
