If It Be Thy Will … ?

.

While praying for the sick, I have heard people tag on to the prayers,  “God, Your will be done”, or “If it is Your will, please heal”.

If you don’t know God’s will for a certain area in your life that you are praying for, then you will always be left in uncertainty while praying.  And if you don’t know a Covenant Promise for a certain area in your life, then you won’t be able to stand strong on a specific Covenant Promise, when you are praying.

This is just one reason why it is so important to get to know WHAT our Covenant Promises are …. so that we will know, confidently, how to pray for our lives and the lives of those around us.

Yes, there are circumstances in our lives which when we pray, we could state, “If it is Your will Father ….”;  but these should be circumstances that are definitely NOT spoken about in the Scriptures already.   Circumstances such as:  marriage, which spouse to marry, which house to live in, which town to live in, etc.  These are situations where God should be sought after for guidance and wisdom, since it is not clearly written in Scripture that you, John Doe will marry Jane Smith and live in Connecticut for 20 years before moving to Maine.  You get the picture, right?  So again, yes,  there are some areas in which we should seek God’s will and listen for His instructions and guidance … because some things just aren’t clearly and specifically spelled out in the Bible for our lives.

But when it comes to healing, there is never a need to say,  “God, if it be Your will, please heal”.

Jesus never prayed this way, for  Jesus  knew God’s will was always healing and Jesus always ministered healing and never stated that it wasn’t God’s will to heal anybody.  In fact, the only time people didn’t get healed was because they didn’t believe Christ’s message of healing.   When people did not receive healing, it was NOT because God did not want to heal.

And so, if you are finding any difficulty believing it is God’s will to heal people you pray for, or if you are finding any difficulty believing that it is God’s will to heal you when you are sick, you must read, and re-read, the Healing Promises found in the Bible, to renew your mind to the FACT that it is always God’s will to heal … and that, in fact, God provided health and healing at the cross of Christ, for your body.

Below are some of the Healing Covenant Promises that I have personally found in the Scriptures, to start you on the way of renewing your mind to the fact that God’s Will Is Health and Healing.

Keep these Words before your eyes daily…. for they shall be “strength to your bones and health to all your flesh”!

_____________

Psalm 33:18-19   -  The eyes of the Lord are on those who fear Him and on those who hope in His unfailing love to deliver them from death

Psalm 41 – 1 Happy is the one who cares for the poor; for the Lord will save him in the  day of adversity. 2 The Lord will keep him and preserve him;  3 The Lord will sustain him on his sickbed;  You will heal him on the bed where he lies.
(Sample Prayer:  I thank You Father God, that You do watch over me and bless me.  I believe You at Your Word, that You do indeed heal me, when I am on the sickbed.  I believe You at Your Word and thank You for healing me now, in Jesus name. I will trust in You, Father God, and know that You are with me, accomplishing in me Your Word and Your Promises! In Jesus’ name. )

Psalm 54 – 4 God is my helper; and  the sustainer of my life. 7 For You have  delivered me from every trouble, from everlasting to everlasting.

Psalm 91 — 1 1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. 3 For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the enemy  And from the deadly pestilence ( and diseases). 10 I believe You at Your Word, that NO evil will befall me, Nor will any plague(disease, or disaster)  come near my household or  tent. 11 For You  will give His angels charge concerning me, To guard me in all my  ways. 12 They will bear me up in their hands, so that I will  not strike my foot against a stone. 15 “I will call upon You, and You WILL answer and  be with me  in trouble;  You will rescue me and honor me. 16 “With a long life You will satisfy me  And let me  see Your salvation.

Psalm 103 – 1 My soul, praise the Lord, and all that is within me, praise His holy name. 2 My soul, praise the Lord,  and do not forget all His benefits. 3 He forgives all your sin; and He heals all your diseases. 4 He redeems your life from the Pit;  He crowns you with faithful love and compassion. 5 He satisfies your life with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.    17 Praise the Lord, oh my soul!

Psalm 107 – 3  God  sent forth His word and healed me and  rescued me from the grave

Psalm 121: 7 - The Lord will keep me  from ALL harm , He will watch over my  life

Proverbs 3 –1 I will not forget not God’s law; but I will  let  my  heart keep God’s  commandments always. 2 For length of days, and long  life, and peace, shall they add to me. 5 I trust in the LORD with all my  heart; and lean not unto my  own understanding. 6 In all my  ways I acknowledge God, and He shall direct my paths. 7 I refuse to be wise in my own eyes but I will fear the LORD, and depart from evil. 8 For this IS  health to all my flesh, and strength to all  my bones.

Proverbs 4 – 20 I will  pay attention to God’s  words and  listen closely to His sayings. 21 I will not lose sight of them but will keep them within my heart. 22 For they are life to those who find them, and health to one’s whole body. 23 I will guard  my  heart above all else,  for it is the source of life. (Therefore,  I refuse to let  fear creep into my heart or my mind, which will push out God’s Truths and I refuse to let doubt creep in, which will also push God’s Words out!) 24 I will not  let my  mouth speak dishonestly, (or speak contrary to God’s Words, which alone are Truth) but  25 I will let my  eyes look forward only, fixed   straight ahead (keeping God’s Words always before my eyes, night and day, for in this alone, shall I  have good success and make my ways prosperous and in this shall my health be assured! Josh 1:8)

Proverbs 17 – 22 A joyful heart is good medicine (therefore  I choose to rejoice in the Lord always, and sing praise to His name daily!)

Proverbs 18 – 21 Life and death are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. (therefore I choose to  keep my  tongue from speaking death and illness, and I will speak God’s Truths  and God’s Words only)

For by your words you will be acquitted (or justified, or healed), and by your words you will be condemned. (or remain in bondage and death and sickness)

Who has believed what we have heard?  And who has the arm of the Lord been revealed to? 3 Jesus  was despised and rejected by men,  a Man of suffering who knew what sickness was.  4 Yet He Himself bore our sicknesses, and He carried our pains; 5 But He was pierced because of our transgressions, crushed because of our iniquities;  punishment for our peace was on Him, and we ARE  healed by His wounds (Sample Prayer:  I thank You Father God, for redeeming me from sin AND sickness.  I praise You Jesus, that You bore all my sin and all my sicknesses in Your body on the tree.  Thank You for doing this for me.  I receive Your Words of life and health into my body right now and I proclaim, I believe the Report of You Lord. I proclaim that in Jesus’ name, I am healed, right now. By faith in God’s Word I say, I am healed!)

Matthew 8 – 16 When evening came, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. He drove out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick, 17 so that what was spoken through the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled: He Himself took our weaknesses and carried our diseases.

Luke 8- 48 “Daughter,” He said to her, “your faith has made you well. Go in peace.”

Matthew 9 – 28 When He entered the house, the blind men approached Him, and Jesus said to them, “Do you believe that I can do this?” “Yes, Lord,” they answered Him. 29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, “Let it be done for you according to your faith!” 30 And their eyes were opened.

Matthew 14 – 29 And climbing out of the boat, Peter started walking on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the strength of the wind, he was afraid. And beginning to sink he cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus reached out His hand, caught hold of him, and said to him, “You of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Matthew 17 – 18 Then Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him, and from that moment the boy was healed. 19 Then the disciples approached Jesus privately and said, “Why couldn’t we drive it out?” 20 “Because of your little faith,” He told them. “For I assure you: If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you. (Sample Prayer:  Jesus, I choose to believe You at Your Word, and believe that if I have faith the size of a mustard seed I WILL SAY  to my sickness, “Depart from my body” and it will obey me.  I take You at Your Word.  And Paul taught that faith comes by hearing Your Word.  So I choose now to keep Your Words in front of my eyes at all times.  I will not let Your Words depart from my eyes or from my mouth, but I will speak Your Words only, and nothing contrary.  I choose to allow my faith to grow, by meditating on Your Words, and I know the Truth will set me free, because You said such!  I thank You Jesus for bearing all my sicknesses in your body on the tree. I thank You for carrying my diseases.  I thank You Father, that according to Psalm 103 You heal ALL my diseases and I choose to believe that Word right now.  I will be a believer, and not a doubter, in Jesus name!  Amen)

Matthew 21 – 21 Jesus answered them, “I assure you: If you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you tell this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be done. 22 And everything–whatever you ask in prayer, believing–you will receive.”

Matthew 18 – 18 I assure you: Whatever you bind on earth will have been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will have been loosed in heaven.   Again, I assure you: If two of you on earth agree about any matter that you pray for, it will be done for you by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there among them.”

Mark  9 – 23 Everything is possible to the one who believes.

Mark 10 – 52 “Go your way,” Jesus told him. “Your faith has healed you.” Immediately he could see

Mark 11-23 I assure you: If anyone SAYS  to this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he  SAYS   will happen, it will be done for him.

Mark 11-24 Therefore, I tell you, all the things you pray and ask for–believe that you have received them, and you will have them. (believe you have received, first … and THEN you will receive)

Mark 16 – 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved…17 And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages; 18 they will pick up snakes; if they should drink anything deadly, it will never harm them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will get well.

Luke 10- 1 After this the Lord appointed 70 others, and He sent them ahead of Him in pairs to every town and place where He Himself was about to go. 9 He told them: 9 Heal the sick who are there, and tell them, ‘The kingdom of God has come near you.’ (Note:  Healing MUST be God’s will at all times, for this was a part of the commission and work that the disciples were to perform)

Luke 10-19 Look, I have given you the authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; NOTHING  will ever harm you. 20 However, don’t rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.” (Sample Prayer:  I resist you sickness and command you to leave my body now, in the name of Jesus.  Jesus Christ Himself, has given me authority over ALL the power of the enemy, and I therefore do have power over sicknesses and diseases in my body, and over every working of satan in my life, and in my household!   In Jesus’  name, I therefore command all sickness to leave my body now.  In Jesus’ name I command all diseases  to depart and leave this body, and never return.  I believe You, Father at Your Word, and thank You for giving me power and authority over all the attacks of the enemy and I praise You and thank You that I have been delivered from all the traps and attacks of the enemy, because Your Word states that I HAVE been  delivered from the kingdom of darkness, and nothing will harm me any longer, or keep me under, or rule over me or master me any longer.  In Jesus name.  I am a believer and not a doubter and I give You the praise and thanks.  In Jesus’ name. Amen).

John 11 – 40 Jesus said to her, “Did I not tell you that if you believed you would see the glory of God?”

John 15 – 7 If you remain in Me/My Words and (if) My words remain in you, ask whatever you want and it will be done for you. 8 My Father is glorified by this: that you produce much fruit and prove to be My disciples

I assure you ( I tell you the Truth, I am not lying, assuredly what I am saying is Truth)  Anything you ask the Father in My name, He will give you. 24 Until now you have asked for nothing in My name. Ask and you will receive, that your joy may be complete.

Number 23 – 19, 20 God is not a man that He should lie, nor is He the son of man, that He should change His mind.  When He speaks He acts, and when He promises He fulfills His promise

Galatians 3:13 “Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: ‘cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree’.  He redeemed us (from the curse) in order that the blessing…might come to (us) through Christ Jesus”……. and the blessing is found in Exodus 23:25 “worship the Lord your God and His blessing will be on your food and water.  (He) will take away sickness from among you,  and none will miscarry or be barren in your land.  (He) will give you a full life span.”

1 Peter 2:24 – By His wounds you have been healed

1 John 5:14-15 – This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.  And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask,  we know that we have what we asked of Him
