Does Desiring God’s

BENEFITS

Make Us Covetous Or Earthly Minded?

..

“…   Some may think that this approach {ie: believing God at His Word and expecting to see God’s Word manifest in our daily lives} could make one too focused on this earthly life and that it diverts attention away from our salvation and eternal life with the Lord. I would have to argue strongly against this outlook. I believe that, as we align ourselves with the Word of God and see actual manifestations of God’s promises to us in our lives, it greatly transforms our spiritual lives by increasing our faith immensely and, it brings us closer to God. It brings us closer and closer with our Brother, the Lord Jesus Christ.  For, when we realize that it is because of Him and His sacrifice that we are entitled to all the things that God promised us, it can’t but help bring us closer to Him in faith and in love.    …   Lex”

The above is a short excerpt from an email I recently received from a Brother in the Lord who reads this Blog.

It is so well stated that I wanted to share it on this Blog.  And, of course, I absolutely agree.

I have seen my love and thankfulness and appreciation for God and Christ’s sacrifice grow so enormously, since I have had the revelation that all of God’s Promises are Present Tense and “Yes and Amen in Christ Jesus” for me and for my family.

I had been a Born-Again, Spirit-filled Christian for about 15 years before coming to this realization, and although I was appreciative that I was Born-Again and saved from hell, there was no continuous joy, peace, gratitude, or thankfulness in my life.

I was simply ’surviving’ life.  Trying to be good.  And impatiently waiting for heaven.

The Gospel wasn’t Great News.  Sure it saved me, but it seemed to make little other difference in my daily existence and interactions with others.

Until….

Hallelujah, there was an “Until”.

Once the eyes of my understand were enlightened to know the RICH inheritance that God gave to me, in this present life, because of the death of Jesus, and once the eyes of my understanding were enlightened to know the enormous POWER of God FOR me, I was immediately filled with enormous gratitude and hope.  I finally, actually, believed God was FOR me.  I finally, actually, believed “All things were possible”.  Because I finally, actually, believed God AT His Word.

And just  as our Brother shares his thoughts/experiences regarding receiving all of the Promises of God for his life {which is what the Spirit of God so earnestly desires to do for  all who are in the Body of Christ} so I pray that all who read this Blog will also gratefully welcome and receive the Promises from God for their own lives,  which Christ so painfully died to give to each of us… even as Paul prayed for the Ephesian Church in Ephesians 1:15-23.
