According To His Power At Work In Us

Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us
Ephesians 3:20, NIV

This is a great verse that I hear many quote when they are believing God for something specific in their lives but have you ever noticed before that this statement is conditional.  It is conditioned upon the amount of God’s Power that is currently “at work”  in you.   Right now.

This Truth can also been seen in Scriptures like:

Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith will it be done to you”
Matthew 9:29, NIV

or

If a man’s gift is prophesying, let him use it in proportion to his faith
Romans 12:6, NIV

Our prayers are hindered or answered according to our faith.  Need more Power or faith for an answer? Then spend more time in the Word looking at specific Scriptures that pertain to the answer you are looking for.   After doing that, do you sense you still need more Power?  Then what about Fasting?  Or what about staying awake all night, confessing the Scriptural Promises over your situation (for you don’t think Jesus was awake all night praying prayers of begging and pleading God do you?  That would be contrary to His Mark 11:24 teaching and His Apostles teaching in 1 John 5:14,15.  Rather, I believe Jesus stayed awake all night studying the Word, confessing/meditating on the Scriptures, and praising/worshiping the Father).  And let us never forget walking in holiness and in love, for avoiding either of these will leave us with no Power/no “inheritance in the Kingdom of Christ and of God” (Ephesians 5:1-6, Galatians 5:19-21, etc).

Making a habit of such practices will keep the Power of God strong and growing in us, which in turn will enable God to answer our prayers ABOVE and BEYOND all that we ask or imagine, in a greater measure!

Little power of God in us will equal little answers/difficulty in getting answers to our prayers … but be encouraged that YOU can change that and make it your goal to grow in the power of the Lord by knowing what He has Promised and how He works in and through us.

His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.
2 Peter 1:3, NIV

My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge.  “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.”
Hosea 4:6, NIV
