How To Break Generational Curses

The below question came in from a reader:

I would like to know how to cancel generational curses in my family. Our family has a history of several diseases which are passed from one generation to the next.  … I currently am suffering from a disease (that my family members) have and it’s getting worse!  Professionals say that it’s genetic, but … I want to cancel Every Generational Curse … where in scripture can I find help in this area? Thank you very much …

My answer is:

The curse is broken off us, and our households, because Jesus Christ became a curse for us:

13-Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: “Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree.”f 14-He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus
Galatians 3

The curse is full of warnings of disasters, diseases, lingering diseases, mental confusion and insanity, poverty and lack (and more!) pronounced on the ones who will not obey the commands of the Lord and even upon their children (Deuteronomy 28) … which can be called a “Generational Curse”.

But as Born Again, Children of God, we are bought by the Eternal Blood of the Lamb of God:

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
John 1:29

BLOOD is what is required to be shed, even for the Israelites in the Old Covenant, to be redeemed from the Curse …

In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Hebrews 9:22

… Blood Atonement, along with a love for and obedience to the Lord (Deut 1012, 11,:1, 28:1 for examples) was taught .  Even after falling away from the Lord in any manner, a returning to the Lord (Deut 30:1-10) would always bring the Blessing back to the people and STOP THE CURSE in their lives.

So again, as Children of God, we are redeemed, or delivered or purchased from, the curse of the Law.

re-demp-tion
noun

2. deliverance; rescue.
3. Theology . deliverance from sin; salvation.
4. atonement for guilt.
5. repurchase, as of something sold.

Even if we sin?  Yes, according to 1 John 1:9 which teaches us:

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

Staying in fellowship with God, or loving God as He stated in Deuteronomy, will keep our hearts soft before God, soft in prayer to hear where we’ve sinned and/or missed some things, and our acknowledgment of this, our asking God to forgive us, will keep us AS RIGHTEOUS AS GOD.  1 John 1:9 says He purifies us from all unrighteousness and Paul made it even more clear when he wrote:

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
2 Corinthians 5:21

Praise God, He cleansed us with the Eternal and Powerful Blood of Jesus, the Lamb of God, so that we could continue to walk in freedom FROM the curse of the Law.  The Law should have no dominion or stronghold in our lives, and by our continual meditation on this Truth … meditation by our mouths speaking forth this Truth to enforce it in the spirit realm and to renew our minds to this Truth … we will see this Truth manifest in our lives.

God tells us that we need to KNOW this Truth, in order to walk in freedom:

my people are destroyed from lack of knowledge
Hosea 4:6

… we need to have our thinking changed to truly believe this Truth so that we can have His Truth manifest in our lives:

Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:2

… and as we are transformed and grow in faith, believing we are FREED by the Blood of Jesus, then we need to speak this Truth over our lives in order to see it manifest:

“I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him.
Mark 11:23

The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Proverbs 18:21, etc

So start to worship God for sending the Lamb of God, Whose Blood has FOREVER saved us from Hell and from the curse and as you meditate on all that Jesus Christ redeemed and saved you from, the revelation will well up and grow strong inside your spirit man and break the power of the curse off your thinking, off your body and off your life, and you can then stand in the gap for the power of the curse to be broken off your entire family.

Hallelujah!  We praise You Father for such an enormous, rich salvation!

Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together.
Genesis 22:8

He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.
Hebrews 9:12

Aaron is to offer the bull for his own sin offering to make atonement for himself and his household.
Leviticus 16:6

16In the case of a will,d it is necessary to prove the death of the one who made it, 17because a will is in force only when somebody has died; it never takes effect while the one who made it is living. 18This is why even the first covenant was not put into effect without blood. 19When Moses had proclaimed every commandment of the law to all the people, he took the blood of calves, together with water, scarlet wool and branches of hyssop, and sprinkled the scroll and all the people. 20He said, “This is the blood of the covenant, which God has commanded you to keep.”e 21In the same way, he sprinkled with the blood both the tabernacle and everything used in its ceremonies. 22In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
Hebrews 9

11When Christ came as high priest of the good things that are already here,b he went through the greater and more perfect tabernacle that is not man-made, that is to say, not a part of this creation. 12He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption. 13The blood of goats and bulls and the ashes of a heifer sprinkled on those who are ceremonially unclean sanctify them so that they are outwardly clean. 14How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death,c so that we may serve the living God!
Hebrews 9
