Have you ever been in a great mood, until someone spoke something to you that ticked you off?

Have you ever been a little “down”, until someone spoke something to you that picked you up?

Have you ever been having a great day, until you got around someone who started talking about something terrible and fearful, and that fear or grave concern jumped onto you?

WORDS!

Words have the POWER to change your mood.
Words have the POWER to change your feelings.

Words ARE powerful!

When it comes to the Word of Faith, many Christians “blow off” the idea that their words have any real power, however, in natural situations everyone admits the power of Words.

The media and politicians know the power of words to change people’s thinking about situations/topics, and spend a lot of time and money getting their WORDS across to you;

People will say “those are fighting words” when some heated topic comes up;

And even Paul the Apostle wrote that it is through the “foolishness of preaching” (1 Corinthians 1:21), or SPEAKING WORDS, that people’s eternal destinations are forever changed!

Words are powerful and have the power to change your mind, change your feelings, AND EVEN CHANGE YOUR ETERNAL DESTINATION.

Get into the habit of speaking God’s Words ONLY, every single day of your life, to change the way you look at yourself, your family, and your life.

You will see that not only are your words changing the way you think and feel, but you will see the powerful Word of God, spoken out of your mouth, actually SHAPING your life to come into line with what God has SPOKEN about you!!!

Change your words starting today!

Scriptural Proof:

Joel 3:10 — Let the weak SAY I AM strong
(Remember to speak God’s Words in the verb tense in which they are written;  which  is what God does when He calls you “saint” or “holy”)

John 11:11 — Our friend Lazarus is fallen asleep; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep
(Jesus didn’t even speak of situations in the way that was obvious to the natural eye.  He spoke His desire or intent as present tense,   BEFORE it took place in the natural realm!)

Romans 4:17 — … God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not AS THOUGH THEY (ALREADY) WERE
(Context of this verse is Abraham CALLING himself  “the father of many nations”  BEFORE ONE child was ever born!

Abraham SPOKE the promise of God every day, which changed his feelings and the way he thought about himself, and he spoke the powerful promise of God out loud every day which changed his situation!

Take note of how long Abram walked as Abram with no child but with the Promise that he would have a child versus how long before Sarai got pregnant once Abram started SPEAKING God’s Promise every day by calling himself ABRAHAM.

You will see that once the Promise, or the name ‘ABRAHAM’, was spoken on a daily basis and spoken numerous times per day, the Promise actually manifested itself with one year {three months, actually, when conception took place} versus the 20+ years of living without the Promise manifesting, when Abraham did NOT SPEAK the Promise out loud on a daily basis! )

Proverbs 18:21 — Death and life are in the power of the tongue:  and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof

SILENT Faith?

.Mark 11:23 teaches:   “Truly I say to you, whoever SAYS to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he SAYS is going to happen, it will be granted him.” {NASB}
OR

“For truly I say to you, That whoever shall SAY to this mountain, Be you removed , and be you cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he SAID shall come to pass; he shall have whatever he SAID” {American King James Version}
OR

“for verily I say to you, that whoever may SAY to this mount, Be taken up, and be cast into the sea, and may not doubt in his heart, but may believe that the things that he SAITH do come to pass, it shall be to him whatever he may SAY” {Young’s Literal Translation}.

Besides having the  help of my putting into capitals the wording that I want to get across in this Post,  can you see in this one verse  the main point that Jesus was teaching?

Jesus is teaching His disciples about the POWER of their WORDS.  Or the power of their tongues.  Or the power of SPEAKING to situations and circumstances in order to see such changed.

It is one thing to  believe the Promises of God in your heart regarding any situation you may be facing, but I believe from this one verse alone {and there are more Scriptures to support this Truth}, we can see that SILENT FAITH alone will not get the job done. .

Whatever you SAY will be done

..A powerful example in the Old Testament regarding this teaching, is Abraham.  Formerly known as Abram.

When Abram received the promise from God that he would have descendants, he believed God “and God counted him as righteous because of his faith”    {Galatians 3:6}.

This is an awesome statement, that Abram’s faith was strong enough in God’s sight  that God would count Abram as righteous because of his faith, but do you realize that Abram did NOT receive that Promise for 25 years?!

For 25 years, Abram held a Promise from God that he would have descendants, yet Abram did not see the Promise manifest in the natural realm!  Until…

The promise of descendants first came to Abram, when Abram was 75 years old {Genesis 12:4,7}, but once Abram started CALLING himself Abraham, or Father of Many Nations, it was THEN that Sarai conceived! {Genesis 17:1,5}.  CONFESSING the promise of God, as present tense, changed Abram’s natural circumstances and brought the Promise into manifestation in the natural realm.

JESUS said, “whosoever shall SAY  …  and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he SAITH shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he SAITH” {Mark 11:23-KJV}

Again, JESUS said it.

There are a number of reasons WHY we must CONFESS or SPEAK the Promises of God out loud, on a daily basis rather than simply quietly believe  in our hearts …. 10 Scriptural reasons can be found in my Post entitled  “The Power of Continual Confession”, located in this CATEGORY … but I am sure there are even more Scriptures and insights that I haven’t yet discovered supporting this Truth, as I’ve heard just Charles Capps alone give some wonderful Scriptures and insights as to the reasons WHY continual Confession or Speaking of the Promises of God is necessary.  As I grow from Glory to Glory, I expect to receive even more revelation on this matter {2 Corinthians 3:18}

A quiet mouth gives our minds too much room to wander and doubt.

A quiet mouth doesn’t allow the spiritual ‘process’ of Faith arising from HEARING the Word take root in our hearts.

And a  quiet mouth  is simply not following the pattern and lesson which Jesus taught us in Mark 11:23.

So, HOLD FAST to your confession by keeping your mouth speaking God’s Truths out loud today.  And then again tomorrow.   Morning, noon, and night.  Keep your faith strong by hearing God’s Promises from your own mouth, for it is YOUR tongue that has the power of death or life, over your own life {Proverbs 18:21}.

And it is by SPEAKING God’s Word continually from your lips, that you will have  good success!

The Power of Confession

The power of the tongue.
The power of confession.
The power of our words.
The authority of our words.
You get what you say.
Your tongue directs your life.

Oh, there are so many ways to state the Truth that, death and life are in the power of OUR tongues.

Our tongues.
Not God’s tongue.
Not our enemy’s tongue.
Not the pastor’s tongue.
And not some prophet’s tongue.
OUR tongues.

My husband and I have been talking about this topic for the past couple weeks, and we have been confessing that we receive more revelation regarding the power of our tongues …  and the Word of God has remained True, for we have been receiving more revelation and insight and even testimonies, as we watch the things we SAY come to pass {Mark 11:23 – For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall … not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. }

The difference between my husband and myself, however, is how we make our confessions.

I am the straight forward confessor, making confessions such as, “Thank You Father, for giving me more revelation on the power of my tongue”, or “My body is whole and healed and strong, and my youth is renewed like the eagle”.

I do get what I say.
My strength is strong, my back has never gone back to being in constant pain as  it was before I started confessing the Word of God over my life in June 2003, and I am getting more and more revelation on the power of my tongue.

My husband, on the other hand, makes me laugh.

He’s a funny confessor, to me.  He asks for things that are ‘more’ than just straight forward.  Instead of just confessing, “I am blessed with the blessing of Abraham”, a few years ago he was stating, “I am blessed with the blessing of Abraham so much, that unbelievers even see it and state such”.

I just don’t think to tag on those ‘extras’.

Sure enough, those years ago when he was making that particular confession, he had a specific lunch time with a Muslim friend of his at work, who said over the meal, “You know Dave,  God has really blessed you, hasn’t He.  It is just so evident that you are blessed by God”.

Wow.  That makes me laugh.  Dave got exactly what he was confessing.

We get what we say.
There is power in our tongues.
Our confession brings the possession of what we say.

How about  my husband’s  confession in the 2009 summer…another funny one.

He had started stating, “My cardiovascular system is so strong and healthy, that it is like the cardiovascular system of Lance Armstrong”.

What?
Come on, Dave!
Lance Armstrong!
(My husband is a runner, and  his strength and cardio system is important to him, by the way.)

Well, regardless of how ‘funny’ I think it all is, it has been proven to us time and again, WE GET WHAT WE SAY.

For after about five days of him making this confession, he was walking down the hallway at work one morning, heading towards his office.  A Supervisor was coming down the hallway, in the opposite direction.  The Supervisor pops off, as he passes by, “Dave, you’re looking so good these days, that you actually look like Lance Armstrong”.

What !!!!???

My husband replied, “Thanks.  You’ll never know what that means to me” and went on his way to his office.

Jesus said:
whoever believes what he says occurs WILL have what he says.

Not maybe.
Not sometimes.
He WILL have what he says!  Period.

Not, “only if it’s a spiritual request”.
Not,  “only if he really needs  it”.
But, he “WILL get what he says … if he believes what he says occurs”.

Jesus said it, and so I choose to believe it.
I’ve seen it with my own eyes, that I do get what I say.
But   Jesus also confirms it in ways that are humorous to me.

Actually, if you take a look at this Truth, as far back as the Garden of Eden, you can see that this is the way life was supposed to be for the human race on earth.

God SPOKE everything into existence on this earth, since the very beginning, did so while He walked on the earth in the flesh, and will continue to do so at His return (Revelation 19:15}.

So when Adam was created, what example did Adam watch?
What example did Adam have?
How did Adam see God handle the animals, the plants, the earth, everything?

Adam saw God SPEAK things into existence and/or maintain things by His SPOKEN Word {Hebrews 1:3 – The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, SUSTAINING ALL THINGS BY HIS POWERFUL WORD }

There was no other example of how to live.
There was no other example of how to exist or get things done.
SPEAKING was the way everything was handled and maintained, from the very beginning.

UNTIL the CURSE.
It was only at the curse, because of Adam’s disobedience, that Adam would then have to toil and physically work the earth  {Genesis 3:19 –  “By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food …” }.

It is here, that the physical use of the body was introduced.

Before the curse, man’s WORDS were to rule.

Now, I know we still live in a fallen world.  And we still live in our fallen flesh.  However, throughout the entire History of man, as recorded in the Bible, man’s WORDS are still proven to have authority.  We may not always see  the same “immediate” result of our words,  as God intended at the beginning when there was no sin or curse opposing our words, {Genesis 11:6,7), but man’s words still are powerful AND bring to us what we say!

That is why Proverbs 18:21 states,  “Death and life are in the power of the tongue”.

Is Proverbs 18:21 true or not?
Is Christ’s teaching in Mark 11:23 true or not?

To receive the revelation that YOUR WORDS rule your life, that YOUR WORDS change your circumstances, and that YOUR WORDS dictate, maintain, or even manipulate everything in your life, will give you hope on this earth.

It is not because of your perfect lifestyle, that the blessings of God will drop upon you.

And, praise God, it is not because of satan’s great trickery or power, that tragedy will overtake you.

But, by your words confession is made unto salvation to be Born Again (Romans 10:10)  and  by your words  confession is made unto the receiving of every other Promise God has made to you {Deut  30:17, Joshua 1:8, Mark 11:23, Proverbs 13:2}.

This “Rule” or “Truth” that God has set up, is not too hard for you!  Just open your mouth and start proclaiming God’s Promises over your life, in the Present Tense in which they are written.

Believe the Promises of God with your heart, and confess them with your mouth, and you WILL be saved.

You WILL receive what you speak.  Jesus said so.

But don’t let time talk you out of this Truth…just because it seems like it’s taking too long!

Don’t let your physical feelings or emotions talk you out of this Truth … just because you don’t “feel” like it is working.

God’s Words are either all Truth, or they are lies.

If you are a  Born Again Christian you have already ‘experienced’ that God is TRUTH when you  received a salvation experience / revelation, after stating with your mouth that Jesus is raised from the dead and forgives you of your  sins … so now stand strong believing God’s Words are Truth, and that you GET WHAT YOU SAY.

YOUR tongue holds the power of death or life {Pvbs 18:21}.
YOUR tongue directs the course of your life {James 3:4}.
By YOUR words you will be condemned or acquitted {Matt 12:37}

So, praise God for making it so simple for us and start speaking  God’s Word only, over your life.

In this you will have GREAT SUCCESS  {Joshua 1:8}.

GRIT  YOUR  TEETH  AND  BEAR IT

.Are you living under the gospel of  “Just Grit Your Teeth And Bear It And Get Through It”?

Or the gospel of  “Try To Hang On And Make It To The End, And Heaven Will Be Your Reward”?

White knuckling your way through life, or “just say(ing) no” to temptations and mental bondages that are continually bombarding people  IS NOT THE GOOD NEWS that Jesus Christ preached!!

In John 10:10 Jesus said,  “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (NIV).    Does that sound like having to “white knuckle” your way through the rest of your life?

Are you suffering mental anxiety today?  Depression?  Feelings of rejection or hopelessness?

Are you suffering through addictions?  Continual illness?  Family dysfunction?

Jesus said He came to give you life!  Abundant life!

According to 2 Peter 1:3, Peter states that God already has “given unto us ALL things that pertain unto LIFE AND godliness“.

Notice the ‘Verb Tense’ of this Scripture? It shows us that God has already given us weapons to fight with, to cast out demonic strongholds from our minds and way of thinking;  God has given us weapons to pull down demonic strongholds in our family’s lives;  God has given us weapons to warfare with to bring our bodies into health and strength; and God has already given us weapons to bring our flesh and emotions in line with God’s Word to live godly, so that we won’t be tossed around by every lust or temptation that enters our mind.

QUOTE THE WORD.

Have you gotten the gist of my Blog Messages yet?  Can you remember that you are to be DAILY QUOTING GOD’S WORDS from your mouth, on a continual basis, in order to bring EVERY circumstance in your daily life in line with God’s will for you …. which is abundant life? And in order to renew your mind to the FACT that the Abundant Life IS God’s will for you.

Let’s look at what Jesus came and preached.

In Luke 4:18 Jesus stands up and tells the people in the congregation why He has come to earth.  He reads the prophetic passage from Isaiah, which says, “The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to PREACH GOOD NEWS to the poor (question:  What is good news for the poor?  How about, “You don’t have to be poor any longer”, or “You WILL have food on your table and money to pay your bills”.)  He has sent Me to proclaim FREEDOM for the prisoners (Are you imprisoned by your emotions, or mental state, or by illness, or even poverty?  What are you imprisoned by?  The GOOD NEWS is that there is FREEDOM for you!)  and RECOVERY OF SIGHT for the blind (healing for literal blindness, and sight for even spiritual blindness), to RELEASE the OPPRESSED (freedom again), to proclaim the year of the Lord’s FAVOR“.  (FAVOR!  God’s not mad at you!  God isn’t trying to TEACH you something through your illness or through your mental bondages!!!!  We live in the time of God’s FAVOR!  The time of God’s grace!  The time of God’s help!!!  God is continually reaching out to people in this age, to help and to heal and to encourage and to save and to set free, etc.  Take God up on His Word!  Take God up on His offer!  Take God up on His favor!)

We have not been left alone on this earth, to “white knuckle” our way through life, and hopefully make it to the end so that we can enter into heaven!!!!

As the world and the times get even harder, there will be more and more “things” bombarding us with which we will need to know HOW to OVERCOME.

Make your BOLD stand that the Promises of God are yours RIGHT NOW,  present tense, before the storms of life hit you hard …. for it is easier to build your faith while times are relatively easy, versus trying to renew your mind to the Truths of God and build your faith while storms and trials are bombarding you and trying to taking you down !

QUOTE THE SCRIPTURES for your health and wholeness!  And walk in the Kingdom which is quite literally,  GOOD NEWS!!!   Praise the Lord !!!

Prayer to pray over your life today:

I praise You Father, that I no longer have to white knuckle my way through life, because I believe Your Word which states that ‘it is for freedom that Jesus Christ set me free’.   And I believe Your Word which says, ‘I AM free’, present tense, from sin and that ’sin will no longer rule over me’ !!!

I believe the Scripture which states that I have the mind of Christ RIGHT NOW, and so I state that depression, anxiety, confusion, sadness CANNOT hold me!  I believe the Scriptures, and I know that they are my defense!  I believe the Scriptures, in Jesus’ name.

I am not a doubter.  I AM an OVER COMER.   I AM the righteousness of God, through Christ Jesus, and I OVERCOME ALL things!

Thank You Father, for making me a co-heir with Christ Jesus!  Thank You Father, for giving me ALL things that I need  in order to walk in victory and in godliness IN THIS LIFE!!!  Thank You Father, for giving me ALL THINGS THAT PERTAIN TO MY LIFE AND MY GODLINESS!!!!  I praise You and thank You, in Jesus’ name!  Amen.

Get a concordance and search for these Truths, then get these Truths down deep into your spirit man ….. it is a matter of life or death, victory or defeat, for you.}

SPEAKING WHAT THE FATHER SAYS

Jesus said,
“as My Father hath taught Me, I speak these thing”
{John 8:28}

and
“He Who sent Me is true; and the things which I heard from Him, these I speak to the world”
{John 8:26}

When times get tough and your mouth wants to say the opposite of what the Word says …. stop.  Guard your mouth.  Stop your mouth from  speaking anything contrary to the Word of God.  Stop your mouth from speaking anything that is contrary to what God proclaims is your inheritance.

God says you  ARE healed {1 Peter 2:24}
God says He heals ALL your diseases {Psalm 103:3}

God says you WILL eat and be satisfied {Deut 11:15}
God says you and your children will NEVER be found begging for food {Psalm 37:25}

God says His blessings WILL overtake you when you obey Him {Deut 28:8}
God says that the peoples of the earth WILL be able to see His blessing upon you and your family {Deut 28:10}

God says you ARE blessed and not cursed {Psalm 1:1, Galatians 3:13,14}
God says your children WILL be blessed {Psalm 37:26} and your children WILL be mighty on the earth {Psalm 112:2}

And what God says, we should say.

And what God teaches us, we should believe and then speak accordingly.

Choose today, and tomorrow, and the next day to speak ONLY that which the Father says.

Choose to call yourself blessed.

Stop siding with the devil by calling yourself sick.  Or depressed.  Or unlucky.

Stop siding with the devil and calling your children rebellious.

Choose to say what God says, what God has taught us, what God has called us.

With Christ as our example, let’s say exactly what He said about Himself, and state, “I ONLY say that which I hear the Father say and I only say that which the Father has taught me.”

THE POWER OF CONTINUAL CONFESSION

Is constant confession of the Word of God helpful?

Is there power in continually making a confession?

Or is continually confessing our answer or a Promise of God necessary until we see the answer manifest?

Below are just a few Scriptures showing answers to why Christians should be continually confessing the Word of God over their lives:

– 1 — God’s Word is ALIVE and ACTIVE and POWERFUL and cuts down strongholds but must be spoken to be effective

If you have a stronghold in your life, in your family, in your body, in your finances, or in your mind KEEP
CONFESSING God’s Truth over the matter;
The Word is the answer to tear down ALL strongholds in our lives, but the Word sitting in a book on a night stand won’t do anything for you;
The Word must CONTINUALLY FLOW FROM YOUR MOUTH in order to have power in your life and circumstances.

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and the joint and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” Hebrews 4:12

– 2 — The Word of God, constantly pouring out of our mouth, will renew our minds AND keep our thoughts in line with God’s Truths and His will for our lives

When our mouths speak, our thoughts are shut down … our minds shut up to listen to what our mouths have to say;
By keeping the Truth flowing out of our mouths, our minds won’t have time to think fearful, negative, or doubt thoughts;
Pessimistic, fear-filled words are constantly being spoken by people around us bombarding us with thoughts and feelings contrary to God’s Truth;
Daily confession renews our minds and reminds us about the facts of what God has promised and brings the Promises to the forefront of our minds;
As we get in the “habit” of daily speaking God’s Promises over our lives, we will be less likely to become afraid, agitated, confused, or filled with doubt when ANY attack comes our way … our minds will be used to FOCUSING on God and His Promises instead of bad news!

“Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

“Gird up the loins of your mind” 1 Peter 1:13

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God” Romans 12:2

– 3 — Constantly speaking the Word of God is keeping your “conversation” in line with God and His will

God says that whoever orders his conversation “aright”, or whoever keeps his tongue in line with the Word, will see God’s salvation, so if you have a need in your life, speak the Promises of God out loud every day regarding that situation;
As you keep confessing, and keep your conversation in line with God and His Word, you WILL see God’s salvation and His Promises manifest for that situation.

“Whoso offereth praise glorifieth Me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.” Psalm 50:23

– 4 — Speaking the Word of God constantly out of your mouth gets angels to move on your behalf

Psalm 103:20 says the angels of God “do God’s commandments” and listen to the VOICE of His Word;
YOU are the mouth piece of God for your own life;
His Word spoken out of your mouth IS His Word in this world today;
Your mouth speaking God’s Words will gets those angels to obey His commands for your life.

“Bless the LORD, ye His angels, that excel in strength, that do His commandments, hearkening unto the voice of His word” Psalm 103:20

– 5 — Constantly speaking God’s Words over your life is a type of spiritual warfare

God’s Words are alive and powerful and if God’s Words are continually coming out of our mouths daily, then we are daily cutting away at strongholds that we do not see with our eyes and moving mountains that need to be moved;
It is us “making our stand” in the spirit realm and/or “holding our ground”;
If we keep our mouths silent, we are more likely to have our minds go off into directions that our minds shouldn’t be going off into …. directions of confusion, wondering, doubt, and focusing on trouble instead of focusing on God’s Truths for our situation.

“… and having done all, to stand” Ephesians 6:13

– 6 — As you continually confess God’s Promises on a daily basis, your faith will become stronger

Your faith WILL be built up when you continually CONFESS God’s Promises / Words from your mouth;
The Word of God will settle into your spirit man, take root in there, and grow and mature;
Your faith in the Word of God will become so strong that NO circumstance that life throws at you will be able to uproot the Word from your spirit;
You will KNOW in your spirit that the Word is the Truth and that the Word will WORK, or become a reality, to correct any negative circumstance.

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” Romans 10:17

– 7 — We are created in God’s image and SHOULD be speaking things into existence even as God does

God SPOKE the worlds and everything in them, into existence (Genesis 1);
Jesus cast demons out of people with His WORDS;
Jesus calmed raging storms with His WORDS;
Jesus raised the dead with His WORDS;
Jesus healed the sick with His WORDS;
Jesus is still today upholding the world and everything in it, by His POWERFUL WORD (Hebrews 1:3);
Again, God’s Word has all sorts of power, but God’s Word needs to be spoken by someone in order to have it “work”;
YOU need to be that “someone” SPEAKING God’s Word into your circumstances and over your life.

“…even God, Who quickeneth the dead, and CALLETH those things which be NOT as though they WERE” Romans 4:17

– 8 — We are taught that our tongue directs the course of our lives

When a captain sets his ship out on a course, he stays at the steering wheel turning the “rudder” to make sure the ship stays on its course;
When he first sets the ship on its course, he doesn’t then go lay down and watch t.v., or go read a book becoming involved in other things and forgetting about his destination;
The captain stays at the steering wheel, directing the rudder, and keeping his ship on course;
“SO IT IS WITH THE TONGUE”, James reports.
We must keep our tongues working as our rudder, keeping the Promises of God rolling off our tongue UNTIL we reach our final destination.
And take special note: the Captain gets to set the course and choose the final destination AND so does the born-again believer;
Use your tongue as your rudder until you reach the destination you are desiring.

“…Behold also the ships, which though they be so great … are they turned about with a very small helm, WHITHERSOEVER THE GOVERNOR (captain) LISTETH (desires). Even so the tongue …” (James 3:3-4)

– 9 — We are taught that we should be speaking to our situations, by Jesus (Mark 11:23, Matthew 17:20, Matthew 21:21)

Jesus said SAY to your mountain, “Be removed”.
And He went on to say, “don’t doubt” but “believe” you’ve received your answer and then you will have what you SAY!

We need to be SAYING something first, in order to receive something.
.
But people have said to me in the past, “Well, Jesus just spoke ONE TIME and didn’t keep confessing over and over, and so we shouldn’t have to keep confessing something over and over and over”.

Why did Jesus NOT have to confess over and over what He wanted to be done?
And why do you, many times, have to keep confessing over and over?

Matthew 17:20 can give us one answer to this question.

The disciples came to Jesus to ask Him why they could not drive a demon out of a boy.
Jesus said, “Because you have so little faith” (NIV), or “Because of your unbelief” (KJV).

And what is the solution to unbelief or little faith? Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing God’s Word!

Therefore, when we are met with a difficult situation, we must keep the Word of God rolling off our tongues.
This will build up our faith for the situation.

If you speak once, and the situation is resolved, Praise God! Shout with joy, and go on your way.

However, if the situation is not immediately turned, then KEEP SPEAKING THE PROMISES OF GOD AS PRESENT TENSE TRUTHS over your situation!
Your faith WILL become strong enough to change the situation that you are speaking over … because faith comes by hearing the Word of God;
As you keep speaking the Promise, as you keep meditating on the Promise, and as you stay in faith believing you have received the Promise as the Truth for that situation, your continual confession, mixed with faith, WILL turn every situation around in your life as you speak out loud the powerful and alive Word of God.

In conclusion, there is one last statement that the Scriptures tell us we should be doing if we don’t see an immediate change in our situation as we are holding fast to our confession:

– 10 — ” … count it all joy when ye fall into divers (trials); Knowing this, that the trying (testing) of your faith worketh patience. But LET patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.” James 1:2-4

As we stand our ground in the spirit realm, keeping our mouths in line with God’s Words, and continually “holding fast” to our confession, we absolutely should “count it joy” when our faith gets “tried”.

For if we truly accept James 1:2-4 as Truth for our lives, then we will be excited that a situation has arrived in our lives where we are forced to “stand our ground” and watch our persevering faith break all strongholds!

Seeing yet another situation crumble at the Word of God because of our patient confession, will build up our faith so strongly that we will be able to meet ANY future situation in life, head on, with joy and full assurance that the situation must come in line with God’s Word!

We will become mature, and complete, and lack nothing in our lives!

Thank God for His “great and precious Promises” which are equipping us to become partakers “of His divine nature” and escape the corruptions of the world!! (2 Peter 1:4)

Watching What We Say … At All Times

.

We all have 24 hours in each of our days.

Perhaps you have allotted 1 entire hour to confessing the Word of God over your life, and over the  situations you want to see changed.  Praise God!  You are on your way to freedom and victory!

However, what are you doing with the other 23 hours of your day?

Assuming we sleep 8 – 9 hours per day, that leaves each of us with approximately 14 additional hours, every single day, 7 days per week, for the rest of our lives, to allow our tongues to speak:   to speak death,  or to speak life.

Ask the Lord to give you ears to hear what your tongue is speaking in those 14 hours per day, when you are not in prayer or confessing the Word.

Are your words speaking contrary to the Promises of God which you are proclaiming are yours, when you are focused on speaking God’s Truths?

Are your words going with the flow of others around you, who speak defeat, economic fear, sickness, or turmoil?

Do you forget to remember that “By Christ’s stripes you WERE healed” {1 Peter 2:24} and that you are to “believe you HAVE received” your answer at the moment that you pray  {Mark 11:24}  and so your tongue has free reign in telling  people about your dire medical condition and the current state of your body.

If yes, then your words, which are spoken more frequently and more regularly outside of your confession / prayer time are hindering the manifestation of the Promises of God for your life.

As James told us the Captain of the ship gets to choose the destination of the ship and steer it there, with the little rudder {James 3:4},  so we must see and remember our tongues are doing exactly the very same thing …  our tongues are directing the course of our lives,  every moment of every day.

Our little tongues are setting our entire body and life “on fire” with the fire of hell, whenever our tongues get to talk the way of the world, over the course of our day.

Remember to MAKE your tongue speak God’s Words, especially when you are not in prayer.

Remember to CONTROL your tongue and keep it in agreement with God’s Truths, every moment that you are awake.

The Holy Spirit living inside of you, can bring this to your rememberance, if you aks for His help and guidance.

Keep the Word before your eyes, day and night, so that out of the “abundance of your heart, your mouth will speak” {Matt 12:34, Luke 6:45}.

And  as you keep the Words and Promises of God rolling off your tongue, you will see your faith rise in such power within you, that the Promise of God will become more real to you, than the contrary situation your life may be in! {Hebrews 11:1}

Ask God for wisdom and help in this matter, and make a strong determination to keep your mouth from speaking contrary to God’s Word.

In this, you WILL have good success  …  “Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your MOUTH — but keep speaking it, every moment, of every day –  Then you will be prosperous and then you will have good success” {Joshua 1:8}.

What Are You Saying?

.

.“… whoever … does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him” (NAS)

“… whosoever … shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith” (KJV)

“… whoever … does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him” (RSV)

“…whoever does not doubt in his heart but trusts that what he says will happen … it will be done for him” (Complete Jewish Bible)

“… whoever … may not doubt in his heart, but may believe that the things that he saith do come to pass, it shall be to him WHATEVER he may say” (Young’s Literal Translation)

All of the above are different versions of Mark 11:23.

Jesus said if you believe that what you say will come to pass, then it WILL be done for you.

And people practice this, every single day of their lives.  The unsaved AND the saved practice this Truth.

.People state things such as:
“I’ll never get that new job”,
“Things just never turn out good for me”,
“My husband will never …. “  (fill in the blank) or
“He always acts that way”.
How about:
“It doesn’t matter how much money we get, we never make ends meet” or
“I just know I will get that flu that is going around” or
“My kids are always in trouble” or
“So-and-so is just accident prone”.

.

.People are constantly stating with their mouths what they believe will happen, and guess what?  It happens.
Their lives stay the same.
They stay in debt.  They never do make ends meet, or rise above going negative in their finances.
Their kids remain in trouble, and accidents keep happening, and life never does seem to change for them.

You might be saying to yourself right about now,  “Well, that’s just stupid!  I’m not believing that what I am saying is going to happen.   I’m just telling the truth about what has always happened and keeps happening.”

Remember:
If you don’t doubt in your heart, but believe that the things that you say keep happening, then these things shall keep happening to you, exactly as you keep saying. (My version.)

It’s a fact, a Truth, spoken by Jesus, the Creator of heaven and earth.  Perhaps Jesus knows a little bit more about our spoken words than we do and perhaps Jesus knows a little bit more about the way things work in this world than we do.  What do you think?

If Jesus says YOU GET WHAT YOU SAY, then we probably should
#1-believe we get what we say
and we should probably
#2-start speaking some GOOD things about ourselves, our lives, our children, and our situations!

..

Why not believe Jesus at His Word.
Why not start speaking ONLY the Word of God, which is FILLED with Promises of good and not evil for us.
Why not start speaking ONLY the Word of God, which is filled with hope and not pessimism for us.
Why not start speaking ONLY the Word of God, which is filled with life and not death, provision and not lack, blessing and not curses for us {Galatians 3:13}.

Start speak the Words of LIFE and GOODNESS that God HAS already  provided for those who are IN CHRIST JESUS.

Renew your thinking, and force your mouth to start speaking God’s Words only, and not your feelings or your fears or even your previous experiences!  Amen.

. There’s POWER In YOUR Words

.

And your Words direct the course of your life.
It’s the way you were created.

But let’s look to Scripture to see if what I am saying is correct:

.

God SPOKE …
light be, and light came into existence {Genesis 1:3}

Then God SPOKE …..
“Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place and let dry ground appear” and the land and waters were separated {Genesis 1:9}

Then God SAID ….
“Let Us make man in Our image, in Our likeness, and let them rule …”.   And so it was.  A triune being {man, in spirit, soul and body}  was created, with the ability to SPEAK things into existence just like God, and with the ability to rule over the earth, just like God. {Genesis 1:26}

Then MAN CALLED each living creature by a name …
“And whatever the MAN CALLED each living creature, that was its name” {Genesis 2:19}

We go on to see that the “whole world had one (common)  language and a common speech”, and when MAN SAID ….
let’s make a name for ourselves, God had to come on down and confuse their language so that each would not understand the other, because of the God-given power of their words;  for if man were to actually agree with each other and SPEAK the same future into existence, “then NOTHING they plan to do will be impossible for them”.  {Genesis 11:6}.

Powerful!
The words of man have the same power  and creative ability as the Words of God…because God created us that way!

Really?
Well, let’s go on to see:

When God decided to wipe out Sodom and Gomorrah we can see two things that happened.  Firstly, MAN SPOKE out against this city, causing God to move against Sodom and Gomorrah!  And secondly, Abraham got to choose or SPEAK the determined guideline which would determine judgment or mercy for these two cities.  Abraham … A MAN ….  was allowed to  SPEAK for and request  mercy if there were 10 righteous living in the cities.  {Genesis 18:21, 32-33}

From there, we can go on to see how Jacob’s words came to pass when he SAID “if you find anyone who has your gods, he shall not live” {Genesis 31:32} which brought about the death of Rachel during childbirth {in Genesis 35:16-19}.

Do you find that a stretch of my imagination?
Then hang on with me … there are more Scriptures proving this point.

Let’s just jump past many other Old Testament examples for the sake of time and space, and head straight into the Proverbs which tell us plainly, “The TONGUE has the power of life and death” {Proverbs 18:21} or “From the fruit of his lips a man enjoys good things” {Proverbs 13:3} or “From the fruit of his lips a man is filled with good things” {Proverbs 12:14}.

And then there are the many New Testament examples:

Such as Jesus SAID to satan, while being tempted….
stopping satan right in his tracks because of Jesus’ WORDS.

Or how about when Jesus taught us, “if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, YOU CAN SAY … and NOTHING shall be impossible for you.” {Matthew 17:20-21}

Compare this verse with the Words God spoke at Babel {in Genesis 11:6} …. same Words.  The same POWER is in our tongues right now ….. IF we will believe it.  Seems the people at the time of Babel understood and knew such!

Yes, Jesus went on to teach that “whatever we ASK, STATE, DEMAND, SPEAK” would indeed be done for us {Matthew 18:19,  Matthew 21:21, Matthew 21:22, Mark 11:23, John 14:13, John 15:7 and SO many more times} if we would simply BELIEVE this Truth.

And Paul taught the same Truth when he said,  “if thou shalt CONFESS with thy MOUTH the Lord Jesus … thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the MOUTH confession is made unto salvation.” {Romans 10:9-10}

And so I write to remind you, that there is POWER in YOUR tongue!

Just because you don’t see your words take place immediately at times, does not mean your words aren’t working.

In fact, there are times when we should fall on our knees and THANK GOD our words DON’T immediately bring to pass what we’ve just said!!

But if you will believe God at His Word, and take notice of what you are speaking, and what you are believing when you speak, you WILL actually see that your words ARE bringing to pass in your life, exactly what you say in faith….whether you BELIEVE you will get the flu and state such, or whether you believe you are healed and state such.  Watch and see.  God is not a liar.  What He has said is Truth.  And you WILL get what you say!

Now let’s just start saying what God says about us, so that we can joyfully look forward to receiving what we say.  Amen.
