..Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless His holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and FORGET NOT ALL His benefits:

Who forgives all your iniquities;  Who heals all your diseases;
{Psalm 103: 1-3}

This Scripture starts with two benefits of walking in Covenant with God, the forgiveness of all sins AND the healing of all diseases, but this Psalm encourages us to remember ALL the benefits of being God’s chosen.

So let’s take a minute and remind ourselves what God has Promised to us, who are heirs of His salvation. He Promises:

kindness and mercy  (Psalm 103:4}

good things to eat {Psalm 103:5}

renewing of our youth {Psalm 103:5}

righteous judgment when being oppressed {Psalm 103:6}

mercy and grace in the midst of our weaknesses and sinfulness {Psalm 103:8}

mercy, grace, and righteousness even to our children and their children {Psalm 103: 17}

and how about the Promise that NOTHING will harm us any longer {Luke 10:19}

and authority over demons and demonic activity {Luke 10:19, Mark 16:17}

we will heal the sick {Mark 16:17}

and we are healed always {1 Peter 2:24, James 5:15, Psalm 103:3}

our prayers are powerful and effective {James 5:16}

and we  have God’s wisdom and guidance {John 16:13}

Is that enough yet?

Or can I  go on to remind us all that we have God’s protection always {Proverbs 30:5, Psalm 91}

that He is our help in the midst of trouble {Psalm 40:1}

and even the perfecter or finisher of our faith {Hebrews 12:2}

*

When we remember, or think about, ALL His benefits it sure springs up joy within the soul!

When I think on the benefits of being God’s child I can confidently and joyously proclaim, along with the Psalmist,   “The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?  The LORD is the defense of my life;  Of whom shall I be afraid?”  {Psalm 27}

Remember to continually meditate on ALL the benefits of God, so that this joy and faith can continually be in your heart and mind, as well!

By doing such, you will see that even when the enemy comes roaring in like a terrifying lion in any given situation, your mind will be renewed to immediately respond with “THE LORD IS MY DEFENSE and I KNOW that I am protected and provided for in the midst of any trouble”.

Praise be to the LORD, Who chose to call us into such a wonderful Covenant!

Have you ever been in a great mood, until someone spoke something to you that ticked you off?

Have you ever been a little “down”, until someone spoke something to you that picked you up?

Have you ever been having a great day, until you got around someone who started talking about something terrible and fearful, and that fear or grave concern jumped onto you?

WORDS!

Words have the POWER to change your mood.
Words have the POWER to change your feelings.

Words ARE powerful!

When it comes to the Word of Faith, many Christians “blow off” the idea that their words have any real power, however, in natural situations everyone admits the power of Words.

The media and politicians know the power of words to change people’s thinking about situations/topics, and spend a lot of time and money getting their WORDS across to you;

People will say “those are fighting words” when some heated topic comes up;

And even Paul the Apostle wrote that it is through the “foolishness of preaching” (1 Corinthians 1:21), or SPEAKING WORDS, that people’s eternal destinations are forever changed!

Words are powerful and have the power to change your mind, change your feelings, AND EVEN CHANGE YOUR ETERNAL DESTINATION.

Get into the habit of speaking God’s Words ONLY, every single day of your life, to change the way you look at yourself, your family, and your life.

You will see that not only are your words changing the way you think and feel, but you will see the powerful Word of God, spoken out of your mouth, actually SHAPING your life to come into line with what God has SPOKEN about you!!!

Change your words starting today!

.

.
Scriptural Proof:

Joel 3:10 — Let the weak SAY I AM strong
(Remember to speak God’s Words in the verb tense in which they are written; which is what God does when He calls you “saint” or “holy”)

John 11:11 — Our friend Lazarus is fallen asleep; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep
(Jesus didn’t even speak of situations in the way that was obvious to the natural eye. He spoke His desire or intent as present tense, BEFORE it took place in the natural realm!)

Romans 4:17 — … God who gives life to the dead and calls things that are not AS THOUGH THEY (ALREADY) WERE
(Context of this verse is Abraham CALLING himself “the father of many nations” BEFORE ONE child was ever born!

Abraham SPOKE the promise of God every day, which changed his feelings and the way he thought about himself, and he spoke the powerful promise of God out loud every day which changed his situation!

Take note of how long Abram walked as Abram with no child but with the Promise that he would have a child versus how long before Sarai got pregnant once Abram started SPEAKING God’s Promise every day by calling himself ABRAHAM.

You will see that once the Promise, or the name ‘ABRAHAM’, was spoken on a daily basis and spoken numerous times per day, the Promise actually manifested itself with one year {three months, actually, when conception took place} versus the 20+ years of living without the Promise manifesting, when Abraham did NOT SPEAK the Promise out loud on a daily basis! )

Proverbs 18:21 — Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof

.

.

Take hold of your inheritance today and start speaking out the Truth about who you really are in Christ Jesus and who you WANT TO BECOME!

____________

Biblical Hope

Natural Hope

In the natural, when somebody is “hoping” for something, there is usually some fear or un-expectancy mixed with it.

I’ve even heard people tag negative, fear statements along with their “hope”, many times.

Biblical Hope

versus

Natural Hope

.

.

In the natural, when somebody is “hoping” for something, there is usually some fear or un-expectancy mixed with it.

I’ve even heard people tag negative, fear statements along with their “hope”, many times.

Some examples of how I hear people “hoping” are:

I sure hope I get this job (and then they say or insinuate:  I never get promotions though;  I probably won’t get this one either);
I sure hope God will do it for me, (and then they say or insinuate:  but He probably won’t; things never work out for me);
I really hope she gets well (and then they say or insinuate:  but it looks like she is dying; the doctors say she is dying);
I hope I can pay my bills this month (and then they say or insinuate: but I’ve been running negative the past two months, there really is no way out of this for me; I’ll probably have to declare bankruptcy).

..

Natural hope, many times, brings disappointment or speaks about disappointment before the “thing” even comes to pass.

We “hope” something good will come to us, or happen to us, but we BELIEVE it won’t really.

We just believe that the same old way that life has always been dealing us “bad hands” will continue.

.

.Hope, without faith, fails. And the Bible says, “Hope deferred makes the heart sick” (Proverbs 13:12). This is why so many people are bitter and give up “hoping” that anything good will come to them. They have simply had their hopes dashed too many times.

.

BIBLICAL HOPE, however, is “expecting” something to come to pass.

We have the earnest (intense, serious) expectation, that what we hope for, or believe, WILL actually come to pass.

It is being “persuaded” or “knowing full well” that it WILL happen.

The HOPE of Abraham

The Bible shows us how the HOPE that Abraham had was an actual CONFIDENCE that what God Promised WOULD come to pass:

Romans 8:14 – Abraham in HOPE BELIEVED and SO became the father of many nations …

And Paul uses the word HOPE as KNOWING a Promise of God will come to pass, many other times in his letters to the churches, as seen below:

Romans 15:12 – And again, Isaiah says, “The Root of Jesse will spring up, One Who will arise to rule over the nations; the Gentiles will HOPE in Him” (The HOPE in Jesus for the born-again Christian, is an ASSURANCE of heaven; Biblical Hope is an ASSURANCE that what is Promised is actually ours)

Romans 8:23-25 - Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this HOPE we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? But if we HOPE for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. (Again, every born-again believer is ALREADY walking in Biblical Hope, when it comes to their salvation ….. and this Biblical way of hope, must be extended to ALL the Promises of God. We must trust that all the Promises are True, and then we must wait PATIENTLY for the Promises to come to pass).

Ephesians 1:11-14 – In Him (Jesus) we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of Him Who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will, in order that we, who were the first TO HOPE in Christ, might be for the praise of His glory. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having BELIEVED, you were marked in Him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession – to the praise of His glory. (Again, Paul uses the word HOPE when he talks about our BELIEVING in Christ.)

Colossians 1:23 - if you continue in your faith, established and firm, not moved from the HOPE held out in the gospel (This Scripture also shows that our HOPE is our FAITH in the promise of heaven as the new home for those who BELIEVE / HOPE in Christ)

.
The Bible goes on to tell us how it is our FAITH or BELIEF in the Promise that does bring the Promise to pass:

Hebrews 11:1 states “Faith is the SUBSTANCE of things HOPED for, the evidence of things not seen“. (Note that when we mix our FAITH in with our HOPE, then we will be FULLY PERSUADED and CONVINCED that what we hope for WILL COME TO PASS. Our Faith gives solid evidence … or proof, as other translations state … that the Promise is actually true, and belonging to us, right now. This is proven in still other Scriptures that Paul writes, when speaking of our HOPE in our salvation.)

.

Biblical Hope, therefore, is not a “wishing” something will happen, but a full “KNOWING” something will happen….the Promise is as good as DONE:

1 John 5:14-15 “Now this is the CONFIDENCE that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we KNOW that we HAVE the petitions that we have asked of Him”.

JOY is the Fruit of Biblical Hope

.Biblical Hope will also produce JOY … for when we are “persuaded’ that our prayer IS answered {as 1 John 5:14-15 and Heb 11:1 tells} then we will rejoice and be excited that the Promise of God will soon manifest in our lives!

.

Romans 12:12 says, “Be JOYFUL in HOPE, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer“.

If you really don’t believe God at His Word it is impossible to be JOYFUL in HOPE, because our natural, un-renewed minds don’t BELIEVE that every single Promise made in the Bible is absolutely ours, all the time, in every situation.

The natural, un-renewed mind has been persuaded by circumstances and past experiences to believe that “bad things even happen to good people” and God just does not intervene all the time.

The natural, un-renewed mind has also been persuaded by circumstances and past experiences to believe that God’s Word is NOT literal in every situation, for God’s “will” trumps God’s Words and Promises.

And if you are over the age of 18 (maybe younger?) you probably have experienced enough BAD circumstances and disappointments in your life, to make your HOPE turn a little sour!

But Biblical Hope WILL produce that joy! If we CHOOSE to renew our minds to BELIEVE God at His Word, and be FULLY PERSUADED and CONVINCED that the Promises are FOR us, RIGHT NOW!

Remember the Scripture which says: ALL things are possible to him who believes?

Let’s Check Up On Ourselves

Check up on your ‘HOPE’ today.

Is it Biblical Hope?

Is your hope mixed with FAITH and producing JOY?

Faith is our substance and our proof that whatever we are hoping for, IS AS GOOD AS DONE.

And that Faith WILL produce great joy!

Choose to believe God today, remembering that God is NOT a liar, and being FULLY CONVINCED that ALL that God has Promised in His Word is for your life … for ALL of the Promises of God are YES in Christ Jesus, if we will ‘hope’ with that intense assurance ! Amen.

Psalm 23
I thank You Father God, that You are my Shepherd and that there is NOTHING I lack! You make me lie down in green pastures and You lead me beside quiet waters. I believe You at Your word that You lead me and guide me and that You renew my life. And I thank You for leading me in right paths for Your names sake and for guiding me and showing me the way in which I should continually walk in!

Psalm 25: 1-15
I keep my hope set on You and Your Words of Truth, Lord, for You alone are my God and I trust in You. Your Word says, not one person who waits for You will be disgraced and so I trust You wholeheartedly, believing You will guide me and lead me in the way I am to go! You are good and upright, leading the humble in what is right and teaching Your people Your way. All of Your ways reveal Your faithful love, Your Truth, and Your kindness to Your people, and I thank You that You will counsel me in my situation! I thank You that Your counsel, even Your secret counsel, is for me as I wait upon You and I praise You for pulling my feet from every net the enemy sets before me. You always guard me, deliver me, shelter me, and give me the victory, and so I joyfully put my trust in You knowing I will know what to do in this situation!

Psalm 37: 23-24
I believe my steps ARE established by You Lord, even as Your Word says, and that You take great pleasure in showing me Your ways. Even though the enemy would want to overwhelm me with feelings of fear or uncertainty, I know that You are with me, never leaving me or forsaking, even holding my hand every step of the way!

Psalm 119: 97-106
I love Your Word, because it lets me know that You are with me! And so I meditate on Your Word all day long. I keep Your Word ALWAYS in my mouth, meditating on Your Word, speaking Your Word over my situation, for I know that by doing so, I will have GOOD success {Joshua 1:8}. I praise You that Your Word is always with me, and has made me wiser than my enemies! I have more insight than all my teachers because I obey Your Words and commands and Your Word keeps my feet from every evil and incorrect path! Thank You for giving me insight in my decisions. I gain understanding from Your precepts and Your Word. I hate every false way and I know that Your Word will reveal to me which way I am to walk in! Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path, therefore I am committed to keep Your Word always before me, guiding me and teaching me, and I choose to believe You at Your Word, always, in exactly the way in which Your Words are written.

John 14: 17-18, 26
Jesus, You said that Your Father would send to me the Holy Spirit as my Counselor, and so I believe You at Your Word! I thank You that You live in me, by your Holy Spirit and I thank You that Your Holy Spirit IS leading me in ALL Truth, always. Thank You for giving me ears to hear Your voice, and a heart to do Your will. I thank You that Your Holy Spirit is ALWAYS with me, leading me and guiding me, never leaving me as an orphan. I believe You Father and I thank You that I will always know which way to choose, because Your Holy Spirit will always direct me.

I cast ALL my cares on You, therefore, because I believe You at Your Word that You do care for me {1 Peter 5:7}; I know You love me and will always lead me THROUGH the valley of the shadow of death, never leaving me helpless or powerless in the valley of the shadow of death, but leading me along to green pastures and  still waters …. even supplying great banquet tables of provision along the way {Psalm 23}.  I trust You with all my heart, acknowledging You in all my ways, and thanking You for directing my paths {Proverbs 3:5-6}, and for making me more than a conqueror, through Christ Jesus who loves me! {Romans 8:37}

Amen.

.

.Mark 11:23 teaches:   “Truly I say to you, whoever SAYS to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he SAYS is going to happen, it will be granted him.” {NASB}
OR

“For truly I say to you, That whoever shall SAY to this mountain, Be you removed , and be you cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he SAID shall come to pass; he shall have whatever he SAID” {American King James Version}
OR

“for verily I say to you, that whoever may SAY to this mount, Be taken up, and be cast into the sea, and may not doubt in his heart, but may believe that the things that he SAITH do come to pass, it shall be to him whatever he may SAY” {Young’s Literal Translation}.

Besides having the help of my putting into capitals the wording that I want to get across in this Post, can you see in this one verse the main point that Jesus was teaching?

Jesus is teaching His disciples about the POWER of their WORDS. Or the power of their tongues. Or the power of SPEAKING to situations and circumstances in order to see such changed.

It is one thing to believe the Promises of God in your heart regarding any situation you may be facing, but I believe from this one verse alone {and there are more Scriptures to support this Truth}, we can see that SILENT FAITH alone will not get the job done. .

Whatever you SAY will be done

..A powerful example in the Old Testament regarding this teaching, is Abraham. Formerly known as Abram.

When Abram received the promise from God that he would have descendants, he believed God “and God counted him as righteous because of his faith” {Galatians 3:6}.

This is an awesome statement, that Abram’s faith was strong enough in God’s sight that God would count Abram as righteous because of his faith, but do you realize that Abram did NOT receive that Promise for 25 years?!

For 25 years, Abram held a Promise from God that he would have descendants, yet Abram did not see the Promise manifest in the natural realm! Until…

The promise of descendants first came to Abram, when Abram was 75 years old {Genesis 12:4,7}, but once Abram started CALLING himself Abraham, or Father of Many Nations, it was THEN that Sarai conceived! {Genesis 17:1,5}. CONFESSING the promise of God, as present tense, changed Abram’s natural circumstances and brought the Promise into manifestation in the natural realm.

JESUS said, “whosoever shall SAY  …  and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he SAITH shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he SAITH” {Mark 11:23-KJV}

Again, JESUS said it.

There are a number of reasons WHY we must CONFESS or SPEAK the Promises of God out loud, on a daily basis rather than simply quietly believe  in our hearts …. 10 Scriptural reasons can be found in my Post entitled   “The Power of Continual Confession”,  located in this CATEGORY …  but I am sure there are even more Scriptures and insights that I haven’t yet discovered supporting this Truth, as I’ve heard just Charles Capps alone give some wonderful Scriptures and insights as to the reasons WHY continual Confession or Speaking of the Promises of God is necessary.  As I grow from Glory to Glory, I expect to receive even more revelation on this matter   {2 Corinthians 3:18}

A quiet mouth gives our minds too much room to wander and doubt.

A quiet mouth doesn’t allow the spiritual ‘process’ of Faith arising from HEARING the Word take root in our hearts.

And a quiet mouth is simply not following the pattern and lesson which Jesus taught us in Mark 11:23.

So, HOLD FAST to your confession by keeping your mouth speaking God’s Truths out loud today. And then again tomorrow. Morning, noon, and night. Keep your faith strong by hearing God’s Promises from your own mouth, for it is YOUR tongue that has the power of death or life, over your own life {Proverbs 18:21}.

And it is by SPEAKING God’s Word continually from your lips, that you will have good success!

{Proverbs 18:21}

.

The power of the tongue.
The power of confession.
The power of our words.
The authority of our words.
You get what you say.
Your tongue directs your life.

Oh, there are so many ways to state the Truth that, death and life are in the power of OUR tongues.

Our tongues.
Not God’s tongue.
Not our enemy’s tongue.
Not the pastor’s tongue.
And not some prophet’s tongue.
OUR tongues.

*

My husband and I have been talking about this topic for the past couple weeks, and we have been confessing that we receive more revelation regarding the power of our tongues …  and the Word of God has remained True, for we have been receiving more revelation and insight and even testimonies, as we watch the things we SAY come to pass {Mark 11:23 – For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall … not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. }

The difference between my husband and myself, however, is how we make our confessions.

I am the straight forward confessor, making confessions such as, “Thank You Father, for giving me more revelation on the power of my tongue”, or “My body is whole and healed and strong, and my youth is renewed like the eagle”.

I do get what I say.
My strength is strong, my back has never gone back to being in constant pain as it was before I started confessing the Word of God over my life in June 2003, and I am getting more and more revelation on the power of my tongue.

My husband, on the other hand, makes me laugh.

He’s a funny confessor, to me. He asks for things that are ‘more’ than just straight forward. Instead of just confessing, “I am blessed with the blessing of Abraham”, a few years ago he was stating, “I am blessed with the blessing of Abraham so much, that unbelievers even see it and state such”.

I just don’t think to tag on those ‘extras’.

Sure enough, those years ago when he was making that particular confession, he had a specific lunch time with a Muslim friend of his at work, who said over the meal, “You know Dave, God has really blessed you, hasn’t He. It is just so evident that you are blessed by God”.

Wow. That makes me laugh. Dave got exactly what he was confessing.

We get what we say.
There is power in our tongues.
Our confession brings the possession of what we say.

How about my husband’s confession in the 2009 summer…another funny one.

He had started stating, “My cardiovascular system is so strong and healthy, that it is like the cardiovascular system of Lance Armstrong”.

What?
Come on, Dave!
Lance Armstrong!
(My husband is a runner, and his strength and cardio system is important to him, by the way.)

Well, regardless of how ‘funny’ I think it all is, it has been proven to us time and again, WE GET WHAT WE SAY.

For after about five days of him making this confession, he was walking down the hallway at work one morning, heading towards his office. A Supervisor was coming down the hallway, in the opposite direction. The Supervisor pops off, as he passes by, “Dave, you’re looking so good these days, that you actually look like Lance Armstrong”.

What !!!!???

My husband replied, “Thanks. You’ll never know what that means to me” and went on his way to his office.

*

Jesus said:
whoever believes what he says occurs WILL have what he says.

Not maybe.
Not sometimes.
He WILL have what he says! Period.

Not, “only if it’s a spiritual request”.
Not, “only if he really needs it”.
But, he “WILL get what he says … if he believes what he says occurs”.

Jesus said it, and so I choose to believe it.
I’ve seen it with my own eyes, that I do get what I say.
But Jesus also confirms it in ways that are humorous to me.

*

Actually, if you take a look at this Truth, as far back as the Garden of Eden, you can see that this is the way life was supposed to be for the human race on earth.

God SPOKE everything into existence on this earth, since the very beginning, did so while He walked on the earth in the flesh, and will continue to do so at His return (Revelation 19:15}.

So when Adam was created, what example did Adam watch?
What example did Adam have?
How did Adam see God handle the animals, the plants, the earth, everything?

Adam saw God SPEAK things into existence and/or maintain things by His SPOKEN Word {Hebrews 1:3 –   The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, SUSTAINING ALL THINGS BY HIS POWERFUL WORD }

There was no other example of how to live.
There was no other example of how to exist or get things done.
SPEAKING was the way everything was handled and maintained, from the very beginning.

UNTIL the CURSE.
It was only at the curse, because of Adam’s disobedience, that Adam would then have to toil and physically work the earth {Genesis 3:19 – “By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food …” }.

It is here, that the physical use of the body was introduced.

Before the curse, man’s WORDS were to rule.

Now, I know we still live in a fallen world. And we still live in our fallen flesh. However, throughout the entire History of man, as recorded in the Bible, man’s WORDS are still proven to have authority. We may not always see the same “immediate” result of our words, as God intended at the beginning when there was no sin or curse opposing our words, {Genesis 11:6,7), but man’s words still are powerful AND bring to us what we say!

That is why Proverbs 18:21 states, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue”.

Is Proverbs 18:21 true or not?
Is Christ’s teaching in Mark 11:23 true or not?

To receive the revelation that YOUR WORDS rule your life, that YOUR WORDS change your circumstances, and that YOUR WORDS dictate, maintain, or even manipulate everything in your life, will give you hope on this earth.

It is not because of your perfect lifestyle, that the blessings of God will drop upon you.

And, praise God, it is not because of satan’s great trickery or power, that tragedy will overtake you.

But, by your words confession is made unto salvation to be Born Again (Romans 10:10) and by your words confession is made unto the receiving of every other Promise God has made to you {Deut 30:17, Joshua 1:8, Mark 11:23, Proverbs 13:2}.

This “Rule” or “Truth” that God has set up, is not too hard for you! Just open your mouth and start proclaiming God’s Promises over your life, in the Present Tense in which they are written.

Believe the Promises of God with your heart, and confess them with your mouth, and you WILL be saved.

You WILL receive what you speak. Jesus said so.

But don’t let time talk you out of this Truth…just because it seems like it’s taking too long!

Don’t let your physical feelings or emotions talk you out of this Truth … just because you don’t “feel” like it is working.

God’s Words are either all Truth, or they are lies.

If you are a Born Again Christian you have already ‘experienced’ that God is TRUTH when you received a salvation experience / revelation, after stating with your mouth that Jesus is raised from the dead and forgives you of your sins … so now stand strong believing God’s Words are Truth, and that you GET WHAT YOU SAY.

YOUR tongue holds the power of death or life {Pvbs 18:21}.
YOUR tongue directs the course of your life {James 3:4}.
By YOUR words you will be condemned or acquitted {Matt 12:37}

So, praise God for making it so simple for us and start speaking God’s Word only, over your life.

In this you will have GREAT SUCCESS {Joshua 1:8}.

The LORD your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior.

Zechariah 9:9 (GWT)
Look! Your King is coming to you: He is righteous and victorious.

Isaiah 63:1 (NASB)
This One who is majestic in His apparel, Marching in the greatness of His strength

*

The Lord is great and powerful. Always victorious.

Does that mean anything to you?

It never did to me, before I understood and believed it was His will to exert His power on my behalf so that I too could be powerful and victorious … always.

It was frustrating to me to know that God is powerful yet seemingly left me alone to struggle in my battles.

I had no victory over sinful bondages. No victory over anger. No victory over the consuming thoughts of hate, anger, being critical, and even suicide.

So what, “God is victorious“. What did that do for me?

Match these thoughts with:

John 16:33 (KJV)
In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

Be of good cheer, because YOU have overcome the world?

Really?

I never got that Scripture.

Again, what good did Christ’s ‘overcoming’ mean to me, as I struggled through life, being tossed around by sin that I had no control or victory over, and thoughts that continually plagued my mind!

It was only until I had a revelation of the next Scripture verse:

Romans 8:17 (NIV)
Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory

and

Ephesians 1:18-19 (NIV)
I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power FOR us who believe.

Ahhh, it was marvelous when I started to get the revelation that Christ’s victory is to be shared WITH His fellow brethren! We are CO-HEIRS with Christ, co-heirs of His victory, if we suffer through our trials BELIEVING that His victory and power will be manifested through us and in us, in the midst of the trial!

“Be of good cheer” ? … Yes, I was starting to get it!

The only way to get through any struggle, or any difficulty … the only way to get through any temptation, testing or even sickness … is to BELIEVE that God is FOR you; that His Power and His Word are working mightily in you and in the situation, enabling you to be a co-heir and partaker of God’s victory in your situation.

“Be of good cheer!” Christ stated, for “I have overcome the world!” (John 16:33)

And that “cheer” WILL arise in you, as you meditate on the fact that God shares His victory WITH you.

That “cheer” will arise in you, as you BELIEVE that God’s Promises will always take over the problem as you believe them and receive them (Mark 11:23-24).

Hallelujah, that “cheer” WILL arise in you, as you believe that God is mighty, and powerful, and a warrior FOR you, on your behalf!

Great joy and victory IS yours when you BELIEVE God is GIVING you the victory!

____________

Proverbs 18:10

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and ARE safe

Proverbs 29:25
He who trusts in the Lord WILL be exalted

2 Corinthians 2:14
Now thanks be unto God, which ALWAYS causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in EVERY place
